The European Commission presents a new HSR4R accreditation and renewal model

The European Commission has presented a new accreditation and renewal model for the European HR Excellence in Research Award (HSR4R), effective from 2024, introducing changes to the process, communications and forms.

The European Commission has presented a new accreditation and renewal model for the European HR Excellence in Research Award (HSR4R), which will take effect in 2024. The changes affect not only the process, which will be simplified by reducing the number of criteria to be assessed, but also the tool used to communicate with the European Commission and the simplification of forms.

The new model is expected to update the GAP analysis and the OTM-R (Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment) criteria, and to add a Talent Platform to the available tools, bringing together the large number of resources already provided through the C&C. The changes will also include new networks and guidance for interested organisations.

These changes are the result of an evaluation process launched in 2021 to review the outcomes of implementing the European Charter & Code for Researchers (C&C), the HRS4 logo and the EURAXESS Portal. The aim was to design a more ambitious C&C covering human resources, mobility trends, Open Science and Gender, among other areas. In this context, the Council of the European Union recently recommended revising the European Charter for Researchers.

Effectia has more than 70 experiences in the accreditation and renewal of the Award in Spain, making it a leader in the field. Its team includes European evaluators of the Award.
